Season of Love
Here is a sweet little box I made using the nestability dies to sit up on top and make a pretty lid which I then added some glittered up jingle bells to!. I am sure you have seen these type of boxes around. I filled them with sweet gingerbread hearts
They were just so nice with this color scheme and I think I will give it to John
What…you only thought I made snowflakes? ;) The box top and bottom are from a 5×5 square scored at one inch all around and then the corners are snipped and folded in for the top and bottom. Voila, a done box and I just adhered my nestability die topper when it was finished. The stamps are the Basic Grey “Wassail” stamps available at I {heart} papers. Enabling Alert: They are having a black Friday sale over there as well…so here are the details if you are interested in free shipping and good stuff like that.
- Free shipping has been reduced to $25 US Fri-Sun ($50 CAN.)
- For every $50 spent, they will receive a $10 gift certificate (on Dec 1) towards a future purchase. It is incremental $50=$10gc, $100=$20gc, etc.
So I have decided I am now not a complete idiot when it comes to sewing. You may have noticed I have begun sewing things. I really like it now that I was taught how to do it. I bought the Janome Sew Mini from Hancock Fabrics because they had it the cheapest. So when I got it I was scared to death looking at the instructions, because I am really bad at following pictures when it isn’t something like putting together a table and chairs. I can do that. It is the more detailed intricate instructions I fowl up, especially when I didn’t even know what it was SUPPOSED to look like in the future! So here is what I did. I called 911…in my world that means I called my Mother-In-Law. She came RIGHT OVER (because apparently she knew what could have happened in the meantime) and litterally spent three hours with me showing me how a sewing machine works, how to wind a bobbin and how to actually sew. Is that nice or WHAT? So now I am completely grateful to her for this wonderful skill set she has taught me. SO NICE! So I sewed a scarf for the first time, but am scared to show you. I don’t want you to laugh! Maybe for my next post? I am scared to death you will laugh though!
Stamps: Basic Grey Wassail
Paper: Pure Poppy, Stampers Select White, Whisper White SU!, Polka Dot Parade
Other: Glitter, Jingle Bells, Signo white gel pen, nestabilty dies

I seriously will NOT laugh! You have to start somewhere and a scarf sounds great to me! I just bought the little sewing machine from Janome this week and it is still sitting in the box. I need to find time to get it out but I am going to use it for cards. I love to sew and hope you keep it up….remember practice makes perfect!! Beautiful gift box.

Becky: I am a first time visitor but I vill be bock as Arnold would say. I love your box….I can hardly wait to try it out and will as soon as I receive that Nestie that I requested for Christmas. Do NOT be afraid to sew….I literally got an F in Home Ec and when I was pregnant with my second child I got a book on Sewing put out by Simplicity patterns and taught myself how to sew. I have made coats and wedding gowns so you know if I can do it YOU CAN DO IT!

This is so adorable, I do a lot of cut work and I know how time consuming it is, I totally love how you cut out those tiny ornaments, such a cute box for gift giving!
