Sweets for the Sweet!

I made this sweet little purse out of Papertrey’s large heart tin for my dear Sophie! It seems though when I revealed it to her and her sister, I will be making another one. It was a bit of a jealous moment! For this project I used the new set coming out from Papertrey Ink called “Heart Prints Sentiments”. I just love this set of sentiments…no pun intended! I actually had a couple of ideas for this project just because of the sentiments, but when I sat down to create, well….this just sort of happened! I just loved the idea of the word “go” in this one. I know…such a little word, but it means so much! So I made this purse for my sweet Sophie who is always on the “go” so she can remember to always stay true to her sweet little heart.

So the “how to” for this project:

Cover the heart tin in you favorite Papertrey Paper (I used paper from the “Pink Pattern Collection” as well as the “Polka Dot Parade” collection. I used redline tape for my adhesive.

Using a cropadile, straddle the side of the tin and with the cropadile in it’s lowest position, make evenly spaced holes all the way around the tin. Yes…the cropadile goes through the tin like butter!

Then take desired eyelets (I used silver medium sized ones from Joanne Fabrics) and apply the eyelets all the way around the tin. You can even weave ribbon through for fun! I kept mine simple.

Cut ribbon to desired length for the handle and tie in knots on each end on the inside of the tin. Then using redline tape again, cover the sides and bottom of the inside of the tin and cut some jersey fabric to fit. Then carefully go around the tin with the fabric, curling edges over that may be frayed and eventually you will have a nice lining for your purse. Add buttons and embellies and of course, the most important thing is the sentiment that you want your loved one to carry with them!

Hope you enjoyed today’s post!!

Go see what the other girls have in store for you!
