Punch Beads

Hi everyone!!! I hope your Christmastime was wonderful with your families and friends! I took a little break from the blog so I could spend some quality time with my family. It has been wonderful to say the least. The girls just had a great time these past couple of days!!! It is so wonderful to see Christmas through the eyes of children. It is such a blessed time, and for some reason, this year was especially so in our house. We really soaked it all in this year, and I am so thankful for that. One of hte presents I made for Sophie this year was a little necklace made from beads using different punches. On these particular beads, I used ten punches per bead and glued them using mono multi glue. This is the adhesive I use most frequently in my regular stamping. I am sure most of you know it or use it, but if you don’t, you may want to try it. You only need a tiny bit around the edges, and even though the glue itself is white, it leaves an adhesive bond similar to rubber cement, but less rubbery if that makes sense. It doesn’t buckle your paper, and I just love the stuff. Well, on to my beads!! These beads were made using the Martha Stewart butterfly punch. After folding each butterfly in half, and gluing them in a circle, you are left with a perfect hole for your hemp or cord.

and this choker was made using the 1/2 inch su! circle punch, some hemp and some Jolie Chocolat buttons from SEI.

Try using wooden beads in between your paper ones as well! That would make a nice contrast.

I hope you give this a try because it is super easy, and would also be really nice on the ends of book thongs!

What have you all been doing the last couple of days? I am in a run of whole day-long rehearsals with The Crossing for our upcoming concert on January 4th. If you are near Philadelphia, you should come! It is going to be really great!

Paper: Papertrey Ink Raspberry Fizz Mix

Punches: SU! 1/2 inch circle punch, Martha Sewart Butterfly punch

Becky these are FAB what a great project to do with the kids. I guess you could also put Crystal Clear or dip them into Utee EP to make them more durable. I will have to give this a shot.

Oh BTW my dd and I were running late in baking our gingerbread cookies. We usually cut them out with cookie cutters but just did not have time. She was quite unhappy with the thought of just plain old cookies so I showed her your trick with the meat hammer design and she was so jazzed they came out looking great. Hope you have a wonderful week and TFS.

What have I been doing the last couple of days? The fam left and I returned to the world of law, preparing for a Jan 6 trial (who makes these stupid court calendars?) But another long weekend ahead – woo hoo! It’s the eve of the eve, and I’m typing on a NEW wireless laptop from my Santa Hubby. Can ya dig it? Well, Becky, this was the cutest little project and I’m glad you’ve been chillin’ with the fam for the holidays – we are so blessed aren’t we! I’ll be at your concert in spirit! Happy New Year!
