Throwing a Party…Papertrey Style!
Welcome to my very first newsletter post for PaperTrey Ink! I am sure you can tell I am extremely excited and blessed by all of this! I think it is cause for a PARTY and a little Tutorial!
Have the winter blues been pulling down your spirits? Well, I am inviting you to a party today! A party to bring some bright Valentine’s cheer into your house with a little bit of love and ICE CREAM! So to shake things up a little around here, I decided to tell the girls they could each invite five of their closest friends over for a Sundae Party. They were SO excited! So the preparations were made!
Wait…not yet! First we had to make table decorations! So using the Large Marvy Heart Punch and True Black, Raspberry Fizz and Pure poppy card stock, I went to work. Added some buttons, and you have a table decoration that is made of items you already have and best of all, items you can reuse on cards!
But what about over head? I am sure I could think of something fun for the chandelier!
Using Heart Prints, the Marvy Large Heart Punch and the Raspberry Fizz Mix patterned papers I made sleeves for around the candle lights.
Now we needed something really special that the girls could help me make. So using the same heart punch (do you see a theme?) The girls and I picked a mix of Papertrey Patterned Papers that fit our Raspberry and Red theme. Then I taught them how to make some paper beads from the hearts. Here is a little tutorial for you:
punch out 11 heart using the heart punch.
Fold using your Scor-Pal bone folder
Adhere with your favorite adhesive one side of one heart to the side of the other heart. Do this continually until all 11 hearts are used. It will then create a natural hole down the middle for hanging.
We then went to our local bead store and picked out some really nice beads (including clear heart ones) and white cording.
I then knotted in between each bead section. The paper heart beads will have a naturally larger hole than the plastic beads, Just tie a small knot of yarn trimming it clean under the hearts, and it will keep them from slipping through.
Now all we need is the ice cream…and the kids!! Did I say kids?
BEFORE….
AND AFTER……
A great time was had by all! Try a party, or a girls night in! Either way, it will be perfect with Papertrey!

What perfect timing!! Our son is getting married and we are having the rehearsal party at our home. Sorry, but this is going to be long…I just want to say THANK YOU for the cute hanging hearts idea. My oldest DD (5) was invited to play with a friend this afternoon and DD #2 (4) was quite upset about not being invited as well, since my DDs are practically attached at the hip. Anyway. I remembered seeing the adorable hanging hearts project and immediately took my DD down to my craft room with me. She was SO thrilled to see how it ended up, and now has a hanging heart right on her bed to remind her of how much I love her. She did want to make one for her sister as well…her sister will know how much she is loved as well. THANK YOU SO MUCH for helping me make my little girl’s day!
