Papertrey and CPS
Papertrey is sponsoring today’s Card Positioning System’s Sketch for you! You can go to their blog to check out all of the details on the sketch. Here is my take:
OK…this card was made for an old voice student of mine who is now in college. More on that in a second, but I have to tell you about my bizarro day!! Is there a full moon or something? Why, you ask? Well…one really strange thing happened and another really STINKY thing happened. I’ll start with the bad news first. My computer TOTALLY CRASHED. I am on the laptop now as we speak…thankful I still had these card pictures on my photo card!!! I got about three different trojan horse viruses from KID GAMES. GGGRRRR…I am MAD. THis was the GAZILLIONTH time I told my kids NEVER to play their infected games on my computer. NO MORE I tell you! I guess I am not completely broken up about this, because I needed to take it in anyway to get it jacked up on memory and some other things, but ugh! So wanna here the CRAZY thing? My husband…MY husband (you ladies out there who KNOW my husband won’t believe this but…) he spent all night on Ebay bidding on a Cricut Expressions for him me. ***said in a hushed and whispered tone*** “I have no idea what came over him. It started out by getting on the computer and somehow coming across a site with wall art or something. I said to him…you know I could do that with a cricut expressions. It would be cheaper in the long run. He said to me…you mean you can make that? Like the one you bought for Christmas at Target? (we got vinyl wall art that said Merry Christmas) I said “yeah”. No lie…the next thing you know he was researching the entire system…fonts…figuring out that you don’t need all of the cartridges, just your computer and some software to use the cooler fonts on your computer that you already have, which is free. All of this stuff. THEN…tonight I get home from a rehearsal in Philly and I see him at the computer…BIDDING AWAY! He says..(AND IF YOU KNOW MY HUSBAND YOU WILL LOVE THIS PART) ”I have a 25% off coupon from being a great buyer on Ebay…this is PERFECT! ” NO. LIE. The man bought me a cricut expressions on Ebay…for an AMAZINGLY sick price. WILL WONDERS NEVER CEASE? HE ASKED ME TO BE HIS “SCRIFEY” (Scrubby Wifey). He is LEARNING!
OK…on to the card!
This card was made using one of my old student’s favorite colors. It is her birthday today, and hse told me last time we were out for breakfast that she wanted a card from me for her birthday. She is a fierce girl with a lot of confidence and is studying musical theater at Westminster. Yes…I trained her well..hee hee. Anyhow…she told me she loves owls, so I went with a combo of sets to create something kind of trendy, but in this soft color scheme she likes. Want to hear something weird? I actually made her two cards. The other one I will show you on Monday. It is MUCH more sophisticated, and I think it really speaks volumes to her personality. It will be really interesting to see which one she likes the best. I will let you know. I am having lunch with her tomorrow!
PS. Some of hte other girls probably did this sketch too if you want to check out the other PTI DT Member’s blogs…they are on my sidebar

John is TOO funny! As long as he has a coupon; LOL! What a nice thing to do. I had to google this machine because I’m craft impaired. It looks like it does “much fun stuff”.

You have kids??????? You look like a kid yourself!
Bummer on the computer crash! GREAT news on hubby! What-a-guy! My DH keeps looking at the Cricut and says “do you really need it?” I keep saying “No” (and I really don’t need it), but HE asks that pretty often lately. Hmmmm, a birthday surprise maybe?????? You’re right. Must be a full moon!
This card is beautiful. But then ALL your “stuff” is beautiful. And I love your humor too!
Have a great day!

The card is beautiful!! I would love to know her reaction to the two cards also. I can’t wait to see the other one. You are so well gifted in art and humor. I LOVE your creativity and style. You do so many fantastic things and you do them well.
Oh my, what an interesting day. You know we are being tested daily, and I’m sure you passed with flying colors! Your sense of humor will get you through almost everything.
I have a Cricut Expression and I LOVE it!! I also have the part that connects to the computer but I haven’t used it yet. I think you will be presently suprised. I can’t draw so the Cricut fills in for me.
