Happy Earth Day
Happy Earth Day everyone! Just thought I would make a cute card for the nice occasion and remind everyone to do somehting different and great for our earth this year! My daughter’s classmates family just put in a whole new Geo-Thermal heating system. There are huge incentives by the govermnment now to do these projects. You can get about 1/3 of your money BACK! WOW! John and I will be getting a composter and a rain barrel. But you can make a difference just by changing out your lightbulbs or taking the train or hanging out you laundry to dry. You can make a little difference! But a lot of littles make a great impact! I would also like to urge you to say HELLO to your local businesses! PLEASE bypass the WalMart and see what it is they are selling on Main Street!! We cannot survive these times unless we start to change our thinking and become economically sustainable as well! This is a HUGE passion of mine. BUY LOCALLY! You are directly effecting your neighbors and their lives! I hope you all have a lovely Earth Day and like my little card! Also I would like to say HAPPY ANNIVERSARY to my in-laws!!!

I’m with you…..I try to avoid WalMart and big box stores whenever possible. These places have effectively killed off way too many downtowns and local businesses. I trul;y enjoy your work and thank you for sharing….love to hear what you are doing/singing.

I am addicted to the “green” channel on cable tv…and wish I could do more that I see on TV. Every earth day I try to change something in our home to be for eco friendly. Last year I got an indoor composter and I love it… This year I am going to make some towels out of dish cloth fabric to use instead of paper towels. I didn’t realize they are not recyclable! It may not seem like a lot but, you are right every little bit helps.
I wish PTI would make some eco design stamps… I would love to be able to make eco friendly cards with appropriate stamps!
Thanks for posting the cute card…I love to see your great ideas.

Hi Becky, I can’t shop at Walmart as we don’t have that here in the UK, but I do avoid the big supermarkets and shop locally and as green as I can. We are also currently extending our loft and incorporating a new solar heating system in the new roof… I am quite excited about it all
Lovely card by the way!
Love, Alex

I agree with you completely. My friends and family just laugh when I say that Wal-Mart is the downfall of our society (it is my automatic reply to anyone saying the word “Wal-Mart”, but I believe it 100%.
To Alex (above from the UK)…Asda is part of the Wal-Mart chain, so they are alive and well in your neck of the woods. Yeah for you that you shop local!
