Envious Envies

Come along with me today as I take you on a journey with the beautiful envelopes of Papertrey Ink!  I have two projects for you today.  Let’s start out with a simple yet beautiful way to hold your older photos and or extra wallets you have.  I love that idea, because I can’t stand keeping the bulky big envelopes you get from the photo place when allo f the larger pictures have been hung or given out as gifts.  So let’s start!

You will need three PTI envelopes, your favorite PTI paper, coordinating inks and stamps.

Line up your envelopes and adhere them flap to bottom of the envelope.  I use mono multi as my adhesive.  It is at this point that you would stamp your envelopes with you favorite coordinating ink colors and your coordinating stamps that match your paper.

turn your envelopes around.  Add patterned paper to the front panels of the front sides of the envelopes.  This is a reversable project, so I added two buttons with foam dimensionals to the first and second panels, which will be hte front and bacl of this project.  I also used the Jumbo Marvy Flower punch to add a small detail to the front of the envelope.

When folded, this is now the front.

 This is the back.

Now you have beautifully soft pockets in which to keep your treasured photos safe from harm.

Close and loop off with some hemp in between each of the two buttons!

The second project shows you how to take one of the beautiful envelopes and turn it into a lovely bag for a gift or favor!

Use adhesive to make sure all corners are nicely sealed.

Seal envelope and cut away 1 inch off one of the ends of the envelope.  I used a cutting wheel for this so I could have a scalloped edge.

Then score 1/4 inch around the other sides of the envelope.

What was now you outer edge will be folded inward to create the side of your bag.  Be patient with this!

Manipulate the ends into a small triangle for the bottom of the bag.  You may hold it there with a glue dot, but eventually mine was sturdy enough not to have adhesive.

Decorate the front of your bags with panels of your liking.  I used Friends Til the End Patterned paper and hte Marvy Flower punches to create this whimsical no-stamp flower!  And of course add your vintage button to the center!

Punch two holes on either side.  Add some twill ribbon for carrying.  Yes…these envelopes are very sturdy!

Enjoy giving these gifts to your friends or making them for a party.  They are only pennies a piece and are such beautiful envelopes and now such beautiful gifts!
