Getting Ready!!

Wow…lots of things to tell!  I am very busy around here.  Learning an opera for a recording, and I just got some pretty awesome news.  A couple of things actually.  First off, I will be touring in France for a bit next summer with Antioch.  Antioch is an International Award Winning ensemble I sing with.  Not only will we be doing a tour in France next year, but we will also be singing in Carnegie Hall in April.  We are singing a program of music by Eric Whitacre.  I think he also may be conducting us.  That, I am unsure of, but I think I got that strong impression.  Our little group of twelve is making waves, I tell ya!  So if any of you live near NYC, wanna come hear me sing?  The program is on April 17th 2010 at 2pm.

I will also be leaving this month (on the 24th) for Europe for a month.  We go as a family every other year and run an exchange program for high schoolers.  For those of you who are new to this blog, John is a high school German teacher.  This is always such a blessing to our family.  Something that we savor and cherish together, and something that we always look back on with excitement and fondness.  So this year we go to : Berlin, Dresden, Prague, Budapest, Vienna, Heidelberg, Dachau, Cologne, Aachen…I know I am forgetting some, but you get the idea.  We will have a blast!

For this time…and for other things as well, I convinced John to get a new toy for us.  I got a Canon EOS 50D.  Oh my.  15.1 megapixels of pure joy and one large learning curve…although I am reading and practicing!  Here is my first card shot for you using it!

Oh I am so excited!  So that is all of my big news!  I have some cards made for the time I will be away, so don’t leave me!  Debbie will be taking some of my assignments for the senior countdown next month, so thank you, Debbie!  Hope you like the card!  Aren’t those colors cool together?
