By the time you read this, I will be in Berlin…probably dog tired from jet lag.  So I picked the balloons to stamp fror this post, signifying my absence.  YAY for vacations!  Berlin is an interesting city.  Parts of it are still so poor (which is rare in Germany), but you still have to take into account that it was in East Germany until really not that long ago, so given that it is such a big city, it will take longer to build wealth consistently.  One of the other past East German cities we will visit is Dresden.  Now I have to tell you, that given the opportunity, I would live there.  There is something about Dresden that I find so magnetic.  I guess there isn’t one particular thing, but I have a strong inkling that for me it is the layout of the city.  Not to mention the magnificent opera house and museum right next to each other.  I guess it helps that it almost has a neighborhood feel to it.  Here are some of the pictures we took of the girls in both places two years ago:

Writing their name on the Berlin Wall.

The girls throwing stones into the pond in Dresden. Well… Wish us luck on the trip.  We are in charge of 40 kids over there, so hopefully all will go well.

    Hi Becky,
I am from Germany. And I live only 150km distance to Berlin. You´re right it is great here in Germany. Hope you´ll have a great time in Dresden. And if I had known that you come to Germany we had met us at the “Brandenburger Tor” in Berlin.
