Wow! I can’t believe it is October 1st already! I have been so busy getting things done here at home that have been neglected, that the time has just flown by! Well, we have an exciting sennior design challenge this month at Papertrey! I think we were all really were looking forward to this one.
I had a real blast making this tea card. Using the pointed flower from Beautiful Blooms as well as the smaller flowers from that same set, I went to work
making the card front envelope. I used the flower stem from Flower Garden, and I re-stamped and added an extra part to elongate the stem. The tea tag was made using the set Tea for Two. Using the Marvy scalloped circle punches gave me a nice place to tuck the tea bag into. What I love most about the card is the stitching.

Wanting to create more than a card, I decided on making a very practical and “green” to go cup cozy to match. This will eliminate the need for using the paper sleeves on your coffee cups, and is WAY cuter! All I did was stamp and cut out the same flower on cardstock as well as the smaller leaf image from “Friends Til the End”. This gave me a nice scale between the flower and the leaves. I free cut the stem and added embroidery stitching all around as well as a Scarlet Jewel button in the middle of the flower, just like the card.
another fun aspect of the felt cozy was the back. I trimmed the edge of one of the sides of felt using pinking shears. I then attached three buttons with the embroidery floss. I just love how it looks like a little vest. I hope you like this little project. It is a really nice little gift for anyone really. Maybe you can try it! Why don’t you see what kind of inspiration the other senior design team members have for you! Wait to be blown away!

This is so cute! Love the ‘green’ cup holder idea.
Love the cup cozy and such a beautiful (and labor intensive!) card. But worth the effort, because both are so stunning. I have to have my own cup cozy!!! Great holiday idea!

Oh when I was in Delaware I tried the DD coffee you love….it was ok. I like out Canadian Tim Hortons better but it wasn’t bad and I thought of you every time I saw a DD. Haha.
