Papertrey Release!

Sorry this is going up a couple of hours late!  I had a big concert last night, and am pulling myself up out of bed after a long night of singing and being with friends afterwards!  So…I am here today to share with you my cards you haven’t seen which I made for this release.

holidaytree1  From Heather’s new set “Holiday Tree” , which I love and adore (I think I am a major tree person!)

Holidaybuttonbits1 From Nichole’s new set “Holiday Button Bits”

HolidayTagsII From the 2009 Holiday Tags set!

textstyleII and this fun new addition to Nichole’s Background Basics Text Style series : Text Style II

So I have linked you all up to the new additions page over at Papertrey for these links.   There are many more stamp sets this month being released, but I showed them to you already in some projects.  Hop on over to THIS page to see all of them.  That is a lot of stamps!!!  What did YOU choose from this month?  I would also love to know which card you like best today!

So what is on YOUR agenda today?  I feel like a little chat.  Is it getting cold out, or is it my imagination?  It is freezing here in New Jersey.  I have had the heat on for the last couple of days (yes…I am one of  THOSE people who wait until the last possible second to use heat or air conditioning.)  I knew it was time when I refused to get out of bed, because I was so cold.   How was my concert last night?  Oh…thanks for asking! ;)   WEll… it could have been better.  I don’t really know what it was.  I was actually nervous, which rarely happens to me.  Let’s just say it wasn’t my most shining moment.  Which stinks.  I wasn’t feeling to hot, but for some reason I was really in my head about my singing.  That is when you start to lose it in general.  If you are too in your head while performing, you start having those “Get out of your head” conversations with yourself in the middle of a performance which frankly, does nothing for you, especially when you have to stinking SING and make MUSIC!  I eventually got out of my head and finished strongly, but it was a battle  last night.  With myself.  Performers have those.  I do feel sorry for people who have that situation in a debilitating way.  Some famous people/soloists actually have prescription medications because it gets so bad for them.  Anyway.  I wish more than anything that everything I did last night was OK, but there was something I was unhappy with in every piece.  Time to let it go.  I needed to say it though and have this chat.  Seems a bit weird, but it does make me feel better.  Thanks for listening at least.  It was nice afterwards.  I went out with friends and had a soda (they didn’t have soda, but I don’t drink) and a bite to eat.  It is lovely being with friends.  True friends.  I am so thankful for those moments.

I think that we performers are hardest on ourselves! So let it go and enjoy your day!! I do agree that it is cold here in NJ! And now we are supposed to have a Nor’Easter!!! What the heck!!!

We are almost neighbors, we should get together and stamp!!

  2. Love your cards! They are all so gorgeous. LOVE this release :)

Thanks for sharing about your concert – don’t beat yourself up about singing. I think we are all our worst critics. We all have our off days. Just think you got yours out of the way :) Have a great one!

Hi Becky!! You have been a busy PTI lady!! Love all the cards that you have made for this release. I can hardly wait until my order arrives.
I think I am officially addicted!!

I like you. I always, always love your cards and your particular style and spin on them. You have a unique taste, and it’s one of my favorites. I also love that you had a conversation today. It’s nice to know we all have moments like that (although mine don’t involve singing in front of large crowds). Have a great day.

Hi Becky! If you weigh your one bad evening (in your head) against all of the things you accomplish all of the time I would say your odds are pretty good!
I admire the fact that you are an accomplished artist in so many ways and on top of all of that you are a great mom … you win!

Hi Becky! Hate to hear that you were nervous last night, and I have had those conversations in my head while trying to gather myself too. I agree with everyone else here, if you weigh the good with the not so great, I’d say you’re doing great! I love your work!!

  8. Geny says:

Love all your creations Becky! Especially that last one with the Text Style, just perfect! Hope you’re having a great day and I am sure you did wonderfully last night!!!

Love all of these cards. I think my favorite is the “Holiday Tree”. I love the colors, textures…snow on the red and green hills. I love the use of the stripe ribbon! Stunning style! Thanks for sharing.

  10. Mari says:

All of these are great, but those last two were my absolute faves!
I’ve been in a kraft mood, but haven’t tried it with stronger colors. I’ll have to give it a shot!
And that bottom one looks so comfortable, like I could send it to my best friend & she’d just call me to chat while holding it. :)

  11. Denni says:

Love the card! very pretty! I love to hear(read) you chat! :)

I agree with you, there are so many amazing stamps with this release (add them to the ones from September, it is Christmas stamping dream making!)!!!! All of your cards are amazing, but I love the tree card best! There is something about the bitty dot snow drifts that just makes me smile!

I so know what you mean about sometimes your head getting in the way of a performance. I will never forget the day I was singing and suddenly could not remember the next line. I am sure the look on my face was pure panic, but the conductor just started mouthing the words and my partner just played along…eh gah! Where did THAT come from! Sounds as though you did MUCH better than I did and I am sure that you were the only person who noticed! You rock, Becky! Thanks for sharing all of your art, paper to voice!!
