I have always secretly wanted to play with the idea of altered art. I love the idea of taking a picture pretending like there is something else in it entirely. I went to work with the girls posing in the backyard for me. “Put your hands like this” “Look like this”, it was a lot of directing, so I do recommend this obviously for older kids, but I just loved how it turned out. Here are some of the pictures I ended up taking. The first one is the one I decided on to make my card.
I could see so many possibilities with this one. Emma is just blurred in the background and her hand is crystal clear, really bringing into focus your altered item. Wouldn’t a snowman or Santa be adorable here?
I ended up loving this picture , so I went to work on my computer resizing it to be about 4×4. Then I printed it out to find a stamp that would work well with the image. The little gift box from Lisa Johnson’s “Out of the Box” set was a PERFECT fit! Adding a sentiment from Holiday Button Bits along with snowflake stamps from Snowflake Serenade was a perfect complement to a very easy photo card!
Just glittered the gift boxes adding a pop of sparkle and color along with a colorful sentiment and you have a sweet altered greeting that takes no time at all to make! Go and see what other wonderful inspiration there is from the senior team and our guest Annabelle O’Malley!

Oh well, first you have to have perfectly ADORABLE girls, wearing perfectly adorable hats, with the sweetest smiles I EVER saw…..and then you have to be incredibly creative and talented to think of having them hold a hand out. Oh my, Oh my, if there were a photo-card Olympics, I’m POSITIVE you would take the Gold!
Now I think I’ve seen the very best Christmas card I’ve ever seen in my 74 years of looking at Christmas cards! Thanks for posting it.
