Muslin Snow

I had so much fun making some muslin snow this time on my card.  I quilted it using the same technique I showed you in THIS POST.  I used the edge of the muslin where all of the frayed edges are.  I liked the look of this as the top line of the snow.   This snowman is so sweet paired with the Basic Grey paper.    The snowman was colored with copics.

I dyed the ribbon with Chai ink from the Vintage Touch Inking System.  This took the white edge out of the ribbon, making the matching of the muslin perfect.

So is everyone preparing for Thanksgiving?  I am having family over here.  I have been busy this week.  Went to NYC like I told you in the last post.  The rehearsal was excellent.  I decided against bringing my camera.  It was just too much, and I never really saw the light of day since I was in rehearsal.  Maybe next time.  I’m going up again Thanksgiving weekend.  We (Antioch) have a concert up in Troy, NY on December 15th.  So I will be travelling up there and singing in the EMPAC center.   Pretty amazing place.  I’ve also been asked to go and sing in Washington, Virginia, Piccolo Spoleto (Charelston SC) and our 3 week tour in France this summer.  John and I are also planning on a getaway to Greece after I get back from France, so that will be nice.  We also want to try and take a cruise while in Greece and hit Istanbul.  Can you tell I am looking forward to this summer?  I have a whole Christmas season/concert season to go before it even happens, but what a fun thing to look forward to!  We are also thinking about taking the kids to South Dakota to see Mt. Rushmore among other things.  That was Emma’s idea for a family trip this year.  So I have been cruising THIS SITE to get an idea of all the things we could do there.  Well, it is all talk at this point.  I need to get to getting through this thanksgiving meal first, right?  That is what happens when I daydream!  Well…off to plan for corn pudding and stuffing!

Very, very cute card, Becky. Glad you didn’t “lug” your camera to NYC. What a busy time you are having. Sure hope you get to fit a weekend in for Lake In Wood this summer so we can meet the girls.

    Hey Becky!
I went on a Mediterranean cruise with my hubby for our honeymoon, and one of the stops was Istanbul. I promise you, one day will NOT do it justice! It was so fantastic, full of culture! The Grand Bazaar was phenominal, and although we didn’t get to do an actual tour of it, Topkapi Palace was breathtaking!

I love it! Reminds me of when I lived in an old farmhouse. :) As far as Thanksgiving, I don’t think I’ll ever be ready. lol. Luckily, we are celebrating it a few days later, so everyone in the family can all come. Enjoy your Turkey day!
