Thanksgiving Place Cards – Hybrid Style

If you are like me (which I know you are), we are WAY to busy to worry too much about hours worth of Martha Stewart-type projects.  I am hosting Thanksgiving this year, so I really had to think of a way to do place cards which were easy, impressive looking and fun.  Place cards themselves, I feel, should be a real attention getter.

Do I have your attention?  Most of this card is done with the computer.  Finding pictures of each guest is a simple scroll through photo albums on your computer.  What I did here can even be accomplished on a Word program.  You don’t need an expensive computer program to do this.  Just some playing around.  What you DO need to pay attention to, is the small details.

Every time I host, I try to think up a color scheme for the dinner.  This year, it will be green and white.  I recently purchased wonderful white plates with a beaded edge.  I took the idea of the beaded edge and used the cuttelebug swiss dot embossing folder to mimic the edge on the base of my place cards.  It is a small detail, but helps with the continuity of the overall design.  I also used the idea of green and chai to match the salad plates.  The plates are green with a hint of distressed tan in them.  This way I covered all three color schemes.

Also, don’t be afraid to have FUN!  I couldn’t find a picture of John’s Dad that was just him by himself, so I printed out this picture because John’s Dad HATES squirrels!!!  He has a very funny sense of humor, so this is the perfect place card for him!  There is no rule that says you can’t get creative with your pictures either!!

Have a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving everyone!  I hope this inspires you to whip up some fast and fun place cards with your new stamp sets!
