Compose a Card Challenge #2
This post is going up a tad early tonight due to another post I have for you tomorrow! Hope you enjoy!
I SO hope you enjoyed this challenge as much as I did seeing your creations! I can see this will be very fun and a great place to play each week! Besides…aren’t Tuesdays boring? Now they won’t be! WHOOT! So my inspiration is very “Springy” this week! I’m spinning the Wise Guys again this week doing a Stevie Wonder cover. I think this two song each PDF recipe sheet ( Here is the PDF of both challenge 1 and 2 for you for your records! Compose a Card challenges 1and2) is a fun idea! Then you can get to know the artists and their music a tad better. I will feature different music each week, but no rap. Sorry…I just can’t deal with it. Now onto the fun!! My spotlights of your fab stuff from last week’s challenge! Um…this was insanely hard, by the way.
#1: Sherry! Just loved her use of Giga Guidelines. She made use of a bold set to compensate not using a heart punch! Fantastic!
#2: Vicki! Loved how she used some dark chocolate ribbon instead of the melon berry. I also loved how she used embossing on the bottom half of the card as well as her heart punch! Nice job, Vicki!
#3: Sharron! Sharron was showing Daily Designs some serious love (in fact there were a couple of you who did!) I just loved how Sharron turned the tables on this sketch and doubled up on the hearts! That’s a lot of LOVE!
There are NO rules when it comes to how you sketch out your card or what inks you use, and you can use ANY elements or ANY stamp sets to create the style you want. All you have to do is stay within the cutting recipe and colors. This is a wonderful way to build up a library of card recipes for you! Even though I use Papertrey Ink colors and terms, you may use any supplies you wish, just stay within the color and cutting parameters!
****** UPLOAD YOUR CREATIONS VIA THE COMMENTS SECTION. MR. LINKY HATES WORDPRESS AlSO, PLEASE UPLOAD YOUR URL TO THE ACTUAL POST, NOT YOUR BLOG OR GALLERY HOMEPAGE ********** I will feature my faves from the week previous every Tuesday!
*****Here is the full song for your enjoyment!!! Sir Duke*****
Here is the PDF of both challenge 1 and 2 for
you for your records! Compose a Card challenges 1and2

I think these challenges are just what we need on Tuesdays! Thanks for the fun and the PDF files Becky! I’ll be back later in the week with my link to a card.

SO cute, Becky! I love your video too!
So… just to get this challenge straight. — we need to make the card & mat the same size and use the same colors… but we don’t need to add the 3 flowers or scoring if we don’t want to??? I just want to make sure I’m doing it right.
Thanks!!!

Great card and music. What brand punches did you use? I’m desperately trying to find a set of dies for my cuttlebug that will cut blossoms like these!

Becky – I just scored my mat at 1/4″ and it’s a lot closer together than what your example looks like! Is this a trick?!
February 2nd, 2010 at 11:00 pm
Despite not being a pastel’y kind of gal, I loved these colors together when I was finished. I was excited to find my focal picture with the exact colors in them which worked so perfectly in every way! Congrats on your new venture too! Can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Thanks Becky. I had a lot of fun with it. Is it okay to add an image that is not a flower? But a sort of a plant? Hope so!

I’m so enjoying your challenges! I was late posting the first one so I’m going to make sure I’m on time for this one. I love all the white space in the card. Also, I followed your instructions to score every 1/4 inch, but I think your sample was scored every 1/2 inch. Hope that’s okay. Here’s my card:

Hi Becky, Loving the pdf challenge sheet! Would it be possible to add your card to the bottom left side of the pdf? I’m visual so having your example on the cutting instructions would be the visual jog I need! Congrats on the new Studio 64!
